Getting ready for the holidays

Are you as busy as I am getting ready for the holidays? With the times they way they are, I try to make a lot of the gifts I give. It’s amazing how quickly the time goes by, and sometimes how long it takes to make a gift.

One of the new items I have been making this year is a hummingbird feeder from recycled bottles.  I hope to have some for sale on my etsy store site, after the first of the year.

If you are into making holiday ornaments, and have scraps of fabric lying around,  Sarah Fielke from The Last Piece has a really cute design.  Check her blog out.

Happy Thanksgiving!

End of Fall

Thanksgiving time always reminds me that my favorite season, Fall, is coming to an end, for this year anyway. It has been such a mild day today, it’s hard to imagine that tomorrow will only be in the 30s, with snow coming, perhaps for the holiday.

I’m always excited to think of the first snowfall, but sad to say goodbye to kicking the leaves, and the smell of leaves returning to the earth.

As you prepare for the holidays, make sure to stop whatever you’re doing and think about gratitude in life. What things, places, and people, most of all, are you grateful for?

How silently they tumble down

And come to rest upon the ground

To lay a carpet, rich and rare,

Beneath the trees without a care,

Content to sleep, their work well done,

Colors gleaming in the sun.

At other times, they wildly fly

Until they nearly reach the sky.

Twisting, turning through the air

Till all the trees stand stark and bare.

Exhausted, drop to earth below

To wait, like children, for the snow.”

Wingglow Creations

Welcome to our new blog!

This is a site that has been recycled and renewed, as we have grown and developed new interests.

You will find everything on this site has reclaimed pieces that either have been reinvented or maybe just suggest a hint of a former life.

It is taking a bit of time to get set up, but we hope you will enjoy the different projects once we are up and running.

We specialize in using old fabrics and threads to create

  • Pins designed with floss, fiber, needlepoint canvas
  • Rugs made from wool, cotton and other unique finds
  • Bags and totes from recycled clothing
  • Other reinventions we come up with

Springtime we move into our outdoor phase, so stay tuned.

So please be patient with us, as we get this site together for you to enjoy.
